Energy anyone?

I am currently about 3 1/2 yrs out from bypass. Around my 2 yr mark or so I began getting UBER tired. No amount of sleep or lack of it would suffice my sleepy feeling all the time. I started passing out asleep in movie theatres, driving the car.. anywhere. That has since stopped. But I am always so so so tired. Sleepy, lack of energy. My problem is I really want to start working out, but it's hard to get the energy to actually 'do it' . I did a whole 10 min on the treadmill the other day and was pooped. What do any of you do to up your energy levels? Any suggestions or advice?

Best suggestion for you,  is see your doctor.  Lack of energy can be so many things, some nothing and some serious, so you best would find out what a doctor says on this one. Diane

Been there done that on the dr side. Ran all kinds of tests back when it all started years ago and they had nothing more than a bill to give me. So i kind of gave up on that approach. Thanks though.

I would definitely check with your doctor.  You could have a thyroid problem.  That's how I was feeling.  I could fall asleep anywhere, the minute I stopped moving and sat down I would be asleep.  My husband would get so mad at me because I'd fall asleep in the middle of a conversation.   Good luck.

Unfortunately it sucks! lol the hubby  hates it. I can just now start to drive more than an hour away at times. But I was hoping someone out there would have just low energy and some advice on how to kick it into gear . I bought some hydroxycuts and might try those and see.

I know you might not like this but start drinking some protein drinks and walk on the tread mill everyday to start building up your stamina. I know it works. Also get plenty water in you also. Really protein, water, and pratice of walking and walking will start to knock the tired bug out of you. If it doesn't work, find another doctor, the one you went to might have missed some important test. I know that happened to me. It just takes constant walking to get up to where you can walk for more then 10 minutes. You really need to work at it. and Make sure your getting in over 100  + grams of protein in.  I am 3 1/2 years out also and I am drinkin 4 protein drinks a day still., Best of luck and sending you all the positive vibes to help you get back in to the swing of things.  You really want to get your energy up if your going to try for that baby. Oh also Take those Vitamins.... that's something that should never stop for us. take care and have a wonderful sunday evening.

I got the vitamin one down pretty good. I have been doing some chewable prenatals for a while that 'have more vitamins in them than the good ol finstones I was taking. But I think you might be right. I will try to do it everyday increasing it little by little. I really never measured my protein intake before. I bet that is key too! Thanks for all the good info!
